The Victory Column at sunset in city of Berlin in Germany. Inside the column are stairs leading to the top with viewing platform and gilded statue of Victoria (designed by Friedrich Drake), the Roman goddess of victory. The Victory Column was designed by Heinrich Strack and finished in 1873. It's located in the center of Tiergarten Park and offers great views over the park and the capital city.

This is light painting with the Christmas lights I have on our house. I went outside in the dark and shot a slow shutter speed as I moved my camera around, to capture the colorful light in the dark, to make colorful energetic abstracts. Today I manipulated this image with slightly distorted shapes in a mild circular pattern for a gentle energetic mood.

"Palm Trees with Red Umbrella - Selective Color" by Patti Deters. A grove of palm trees surrounds a single red umbrella on the shores of the island of Maui, Hawaii. The mountains in the background are from the island of Molokaʻi and the Wailau Valley, home to the now extinct shield volcano of Mauna Loa. Selective color processing has been applied to focus on the umbrella. If you like outdoor nature photography, please see more vacation travel and other landscapes at patti-deters.pixels.com.

"Pretty Garden Flowers Collage" by Patti Deters. This soft and pretty floral collage shows six images of lovely garden flowers: A soft pink Poppy (Papaver somniferum), a pink spike of Lupine (Lupinus), a yellow and pink Columbine (aquilegia), a purple African Daisy (osteospermum), a yellow tree peony called "Golden Bowl" (Paeonia 'Golden Bowl') and a huge rose pink bloom of Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis). Each of the flowers and all the garden backgrounds were photographed in Minnesota. Several overlays of soft watercolor strokes and canvas textures have been applied for a romantic and artistic effect. Each image in this collage is also available individually by going to the links below. There is also a triptych available. "Female Cardinal Perched" by Patti Deters. This beautiful female Cardinal (cardinalis cardinalis) is seen perched on an arborvitae branch with morning sun lighting her and making her glow. Cardinals are common backyard birds in Minnesota but are still always fun to see close-up. The muted tan, rust, and brown colors of the female with her crest and black face mask make her just as striking and pretty as the red male. Large spring Tulips are the first to bloom as everything is awakening from the cold New England winter. These Tulips are so large that when fully in bloom the long stems cannot hold them fully upright and they droop down to the ground.

Description - On freezing cold January morning in the mountains of New Hampshire the snow covered trees and ground are coated with a sheet of ice. As the sun rises and shines brightly down on the frozen landscape, the trees sparkle creating a beautiful winter wonderland scene.

DescriptionAs the New England weather gets warmer, the trees and flowers all around start to awaken from their winters naps. The flowering crabapple tree is always one of the first bloom I see in our small neighborhood in a town south of Boston Massachusetts. These small vibrant pink flowers bloom and give way to beautiful green leaves.

DescriptionA late August summer, on an early morning walk, the thick fog begins to recede revealing the row of beach cottages on Turo’s coast and their colorful Adirondack chairs. The crescent shaped bay still hidden by the fog. The Days Cottages are also known as the ‘Flower Cottages’ because each is named after a specific flower. These historic cottages proudly wear their flower name on the iconic green and white wooden signs.
The 2023 season will mark ninety years since cottages 1-4 and 15-23 were built and began serving their hundreds of guests.

A beautiful late summer night on Cape Cod with a brilliant sunset providing a warm glow over the coast. Taken at Paynes Creek in Brewster. Footprints deep in the soft golden sand following the beach path and jetty that leads to the sprawling Brewster flats at low tide.
