I probably will NOT purchase from this site again. The quality of the puzzle was just okay, for example there were many pieces where the backing was delaminating. (See 2 photos) Additionally, the size was advertised as 20" x 28". The finished puzzle size was actually 19-5/8" x 26-1/8". I feel that skimping on the size resulted in the face of the bottom kitty being half obscured when framed. This is the most I've ever paid for a puzzle that I expected to be perfect. (I could only select 1 photo. Please email me if you want photos of puzzle pieces delaminating.)

I love the puzzle as I live in Shingletown. It was very difficult! But the letters that say "Gateway To Lassen" are CUT OFF it only shows part of the quotes. 🤦♀️ So disappointing! ☹ *See attached image.
"Because I Care" was a commissioned piece for a woman who just lost her husband to cancer. Her friend knew how much she loved red sunflowers and asked that I create a special piece just for her to remind her how much she cared.
The background is full of cracks and bumps that give it a "grecian" feel. There is so much paint and glue used in the work that it has taken at least a week to dry...and that is before I put on the finishing touch of artist varnish.
This is not a painting for the faint of heart. It begs to be touched and experienced.
I am honored to have played a part in bringing beauty from ashes to this young woman through this painting of red sunflowers.
As a child you could often find me quietly "painting by numbers" in my room. More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team? Laura, you know I love your artwork. This is so gorgeous, I can't believe I didn't see it before. I LOVE your texturing and layering of the paints. You are correct that it does have that antique feel, gilded Grecian, rough and contrasting. The colors are vibrantly red against the gorgeous background and painted with fabulous strokes.
