“Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.” .... Congratulations on your recent sale on an wonderful work.

Catherine Twomey replied:

I like that quote! It was true at the time I painted this - because this painting reflected my over-controlling approach to painting at the time. I've loosened up a bit since then, happily, but still - I loved this tree and the history behind it. Thanks, and take care.

I love the wolf. Because it represents the Gaurdian of all the land on the Earth. It also has the highest quality of life, freedom and the love from it's pack and family.

I am in a bit a quandary regarding this order. I have not received it. The UPS tracking shows it coming to Canada then going to California. I have not been able to contact UPS as they only seem to want to hear from US addresses. Fine Art America has not been of any assistance in getting me connected with my order. As a result of this experience, I do not plan on ordering anything more from this supplier. Too bad, there are a lot of nice things on their website. If this matter gets sorted out, I will update this review. Update: my order eventually arrived and I am quite happy with it.

I probably will NOT purchase from this site again. The quality of the puzzle was just okay, for example there were many pieces where the backing was delaminating. (See 2 photos) Additionally, the size was advertised as 20" x 28". The finished puzzle size was actually 19-5/8" x 26-1/8". I feel that skimping on the size resulted in the face of the bottom kitty being half obscured when framed. This is the most I've ever paid for a puzzle that I expected to be perfect. (I could only select 1 photo. Please email me if you want photos of puzzle pieces delaminating.)

I haven't done the puzzle yet but I was very pleased with the speed it was sent. The puzzle itself is brilliant I only wish I were able to find Linda Carruth's puzzles in England

Artist's Description

An ancient white oak tree, hundreds of years old, on the way from Thomas Jefferson's Monticello to James Madison's Montpelier. It is a rare oak with a huge tulip-shaped trunk. I was lucky enough to paint it before it was fenced off. In oil, 12" W X 24" H on gessoed maple board.

About Catherine Twomey

Great paintings require a commitment of skill, creativity, passion, time and resources. I love being an artist, it was the only thing I wanted to be. My paintings are appropriate for personal use, business uses, advertising, wedding announcements, billboards and more. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about my work. If you see something you like, Favorite, Vote for, leave a comment, or, of course, buy! Art is my life. From early on, I was the designated class artist and loved having the ability to communicate visually what I felt inside. For over a decade now I have painted as a fine artist, and have found joy and been rewarded with winning national competitions, exhibitions and international sales. Having spent a career as a...
