I probably will NOT purchase from this site again. The quality of the puzzle was just okay, for example there were many pieces where the backing was delaminating. (See 2 photos) Additionally, the size was advertised as 20" x 28". The finished puzzle size was actually 19-5/8" x 26-1/8". I feel that skimping on the size resulted in the face of the bottom kitty being half obscured when framed. This is the most I've ever paid for a puzzle that I expected to be perfect. (I could only select 1 photo. Please email me if you want photos of puzzle pieces delaminating.)

I haven't done the puzzle yet but I was very pleased with the speed it was sent. The puzzle itself is brilliant I only wish I were able to find Linda Carruth's puzzles in England

I love the puzzle as I live in Shingletown. It was very difficult! But the letters that say "Gateway To Lassen" are CUT OFF it only shows part of the quotes. 🤦‍♀️ So disappointing! ☹ *See attached image.

Artist's Description

Two F-15E Strike Eagles of the 336th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron "Rocketeers" turn west over the FRISCO reporting point during an Operation Iraqi Freedom combat mission on 8 April 2003. The lead jet, callsign Shogun 53, was named Shangri-La II in honor of Capt. Don Gentile and his famous P-51B Mustang. The second Eagle, Back for More - Mad Duck IV, was named after a WWII F4U Corsair maintained by the grandfather of the F-15E's nose artist.

Interestingly, the date is significant because on 8 April 1944 Capt. Gentile got his last three kills while flying the original Shangri-La. Gentile earned the Distinguished Service Cross (now Air Force Cross) on that mission, and I depicted part of the action in my painting, One-Man Air Force (see my "Larger Paintings" page).

FRISCO was an OIF reporting point. The procedure to fly up the Arabian Gulf, thru Kuwait, and into Iraq was called the "Ocean Parkway". There were assigned altitudes for inbound and outbound aircr...

About Wade Meyers

Wade Meyers

Wade Meyers spent his early years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina before his family moved to Bossier City, La. when he was ten years old. Fulfilling a dream, Wade soloed a Cessna 150 at age 17 and went on to earn his Commercial and Flight Instructor pilot certificates. After high school, he earned a B.A. in History from Louisiana State University in Shreveport while serving in the US Air Force Reserve at Barksdale Air Force Base. With marriage came a move to the beautiful Birmingham, Alabama area. Diving in head first, Wade quit his job at an aviation museum in 2003 and began to work full-time as an aviation artist. He started accepting commissions immediately, and to this day his work is primarily commission-driven. Along with his...
