Site Keeps Duplicating Images

So I have been uploading a series of graphics. The system allows me to use the same name for each graphic and it adds a number to the name of it is the same #1,#2,#3 etc. but when you look at the pixels based site, it looses is self and images are duplicating or not showing up. Is this a know problem? But when I click on the image displays, it takes you to another image

Yea, use different names.

Never use the same name, or more than one tab open on the site.

then why not an error, rather than adding number to the name, which implies that using same name is ok, the system will just add a number to it, like any other modern upload system. The system already adds keywords, and descriptions, implying the name change is the system maintaining a naming convention automatically. Is the solution to go in and rename images, which I tried and really doesn't fix it. Thanks

No, reload the images that are wrong with different filenames, and titles

The file names upload are all different, it's the title that has been the same and the system adds the number to it.

how do I know which images are wrong if they display differently all the time... I tried changing names and it does nothing to the display of the images. If name field already catches errors, when using an invalid character, so the routine is already montoring that field, and it already knows the name is duplicated, hence the addtions of the #N then why not error out? rather than the uploader knows nothing is wrong until the display is all messed up?

You must select a unique title for each image to avoid these issues! This is a quirk of FAA.

On the edit page you will see the correct image. The main image.

Thank you all for the clarification and solution path. I will close this.
