Group # Of Images For Administrators, Artists And Photographers

I am the administer of Hotel Lobby Artworks, as well as a total of 5 different groups and I have added while being the administrator 141,286 images to the Hotel Lobby Artwork group alone. I I was once told in a prior discussion that no matter how many images are within a group, not one should ever be deleted as long as they have adhered to the rules of the group. I would like to know if this still applies? As administrator, it is very time consuming to wait for all the images to load to add new images to the group etc...now that there are so many. Can anyone please advise? Obviously any interested potential buyer is not going to sift through 141,000 images to maybe find an artwork they like within a group. How many images should we now maintain within each group? Also how many should appear on the Home page of that group as well?
Thank you!

I know many admins who send out messages for people to delete their own images from the group when it gets too much.

I can't say anything about admins deleting. Someone else can answer that.

Hi Karen,

Deleting images from the main group will not speed-up the page opening - simply because when you open the group page or even the general image page only those images on that page are opening - not all images in that group open at the same time - only one page at a time.

That being said - Featured images are a different story - all featured images open on the main page and can slow down the process if there are too many - that is why Abbie suggests to have about 30 featured images at one time - deleting older featured images.

Put yourself in the shoes of a busy buyer.
If they go to a group at all, they may click thru 4, maybe 5 pages.
If an artist does not have work on the featured (home) page of the group or maybe in the first 5, their work will probably never be seen in the group.
